- 4 tablespoons of vinegar
- 3 tablespoons of water
- 1/2 teasppon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
- 4 eggs
- 2 level tablespoons of butter.
Put the four tablespoonfuls of vinegar and three of water into a saucepan over and heat up, add the half teaspoonful of salt and half saltspoonful of pepper. Beat the yolks of the four eggs until creamy, add slowly the hot mixture. Stir over hot water until it has the consistency of mayonnaise dressing. Take from the stove and add carefully the two level tablespoonfuls of butter.
